Powder Coating

What is powder coating?

Powder Coating looks like paint, but acts like armor. The substances used in powder coating are finely ground particles of pigment and resin. These particles are electro-statically charged and then sprayed onto the surface to be coated, just as if it were paint. The material that is to receive the coating is electrically grounded. The charged particles are attracted to the grounded work-piece electro-magnetically and adhere to the surface. The piece is then heated in an industrial oven which causes the particles to melt and fuse themselves to the material. This provides a very attractive and durable finish.

Why Powder Coat?

Powder Coating is very durable since it is baked on to the part, and many different colors and textures are available. Because of the process, powder coatings provide a durable and uniform finish that will last. Depending on your particular application and needs, different types of powder coating are available to provide extra protection from ultra-violet rays, corrosion, abrasion, heat, and chemicals. We will provide the particular type of powder coating that you need for your application.
